About us

Claire: Claire is on the home stretch of her LLB/BA with just half a semester to go. After deciding to study law because she was good at English, Claire found her passion for the law in 2015 when she first volunteered for the Wellington Community Justice Project and saw firsthand how her legal knowledge could be used to help others. In her spare time, Claire likes to do quizzes, play netball with her co-Student Director Mariah, and hang out with her newborn niece.

Mariah: Mariah is Māori, Samoan and Pākehā. Nō Muaūpoko, Ngāti Raukawa me Ngāti Rārua a Mariah. Mariah has been proud to use her law degree to help vulnerable people while volunteering with the WCJP, and will continue to do so when she begins her legal career. In her spare time, Mariah enjoys reading, raranga Māori and playing netball with her co-Student Director Claire.
